Dr. Jane Mancell

Jane was born and raised on the west coast of BC. She graduated with distinction with an honours degree in biology from the University of Guelph. She then returned to Vancouver to write an undergraduate thesis in animal welfare at UBC and work with dairy cows. Following that she went to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating with her doctorate in 2012. Since graduation she has worked mostly in the Lower Mainland and the Sea to Sky, but also spent a year working in the UK, primarily for the Royal Veterinary College in London teaching shelter medicine and surgery to final year veterinary students. Jane’s hobbies include spay/neuter/vaccine clinics in areas of Canada without veterinary care (usually Nunavut), traveling, hiking, photography, skiing, sailing and playing soccer.
